Albanian investors apply to build 2 small HPPs in Dibra region
, NewsAlbania’s energy ministry said it has received two applications for building permits for small hydro power plants in the northeastern region of Dibra.
The capacity of each small HPP will not exceed 2 MW, according to a list of applications posted on the website of the energy ministry earlier this week.
Local company General Green Energy intends to build a small HPP near Dohoshisht village, whereas the company Renewable Energy wants to build a HPP near the city of Bulqiza.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity from HPPs, most of it from three power plants along the Drin river.
