Bosnia and Herzegovina: RS plans to ease regulations for small solar power plants

, News

In order to ease regulations related to the installation of small-scale solar power plants by both households and companies, the Government of the Republic of Srpska (RS) is planning to amend concession legislation.
According to proposed amendments, small ground-based photovoltaic systems with installed capacity of up to 250 kW will not be subject to concession, thus enabling all interested parties – households and companies to invest in small solar facilities.
RS Ministry of Mining and Energy said that new regulation would enable a greater number of interested parties – households and businesses – to invest in such facilities, and added solar power doesn’t have a negative impact on the environment. The applicants will not be obliged to sign a concession contract if these amendments are adopted.
