Bosnia’s Eol Prvi seeks to extend construction deadline for 51 MW WPP

Bosnian company Eol Prvi, which holds a 30-year concession for the construction of a 51 MW wind park in the Serb Republic worth 150 million marka ($86.1 million/76.7 million euro), has asked for an extension of the deadline set for the project’s completion, local media reported.

The concession company is late in performing the construction works for the Trusina wind park – funded by UK-based diversified holding Kermas – according to the schedule set out in the relevant agreement with the government, news daily Nezavisne reported on Sunday.

The daily added that the decision on the extension of the deadline will be taken by the entity’s government.

Local media earlier reported that the construction of the Trusina wind park should have been completed by end-2014. However, 2018 is now considered as the most probable completion date for the technical works.

Eol Prvi is also late in signing a grid connection contract with power utility Elektroprivreda BiH, the power utility of Bosnia’s other autonomous entity, the Muslim-Croat Federation, due to dissent in the expert opinions concerning the wind park’s connection to the country’s transmission system between the Elektroprivreda RS, the power utility of the Serb Republic, and Elektroprivreda BiH, Nezavisne reported, quoting the director of the Nevesinje-based company, Zlatko Mandzuka.

Once completed, the wind farm is expected to produce 160,000 MWh of electricity per year, enough to power some 40,000 households.
