Conditions for termination of the concession for the construction of several SHPPs in Montenegro have been met

The Government of Montenegro concluded at the session that the conditions for the termination of concessions on the construction of small hydroelectric power plants on the watercourses Rastak, Ljeviska and Rezevica rivers have been met, it is stated in the announcement. The Government announced that they had adopted the Information on the proposals for termination of the concession agreement which envisages the construction of SHPPs on those watercourses.

“Concluding that, due to non-fulfillment of the concessionaire’s contractual obligations, conditions were met for the termination of contracts for the construction of small hydropower plants on those watercourses, the Government instructed the Ministry of Capital Investments to take the necessary activities and conduct procedures in that direction,” the government added.

The Information on the proposals for resolving the status of the concession agreement, which envisages the construction of small hydroelectric power plants on the watercourses of the Djuricka River with its tributaries, Komaraca, Murinska, Bistrica and Bukovica, was also adopted. On that occasion, the Government concluded that conditions had been met for the termination of the concession agreements for the construction of small hydropower plants on the Đurička Rijeka watercourses with tributaries, Bistrica and Bukovica. The Government has set an appropriate deadline for the concessionaires for the construction of small hydroelectric power plants on the Komarača and Murinska Rivers watercourses, and in case of non-fulfillment of any of the obligations, the procedure of terminating the concession agreements will be initiated, “the statement reads.
