The European Investment Bank (EIB) said on Thursday it is considering financing with 55 million euro ($62.2 million) the first phase of the project for the 99 MW Alibunar wind farm in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina.

The total cost of the project is seen at 160 million euro, the EIB said in a statement.

In January, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said that it is considering alongside the EIB and other potential lenders financing for the Alibunar A wind farm project in Serbia.

The planned wind farm in the Alibunar municipality, 55 km northeast of Belgrade, will be operated by Windvision Windfarm A, a special purpose company registered in Serbia for the sole purpose of developing and implementing the project, the EBRD said at the time, adding that Windvision Windfarm A was owned by Windvision Holding BV, a company headquartered in Belgium.

Serbia has no installed wind power capacity.
