A trade union federation representing the activity from energy, oil, gas and mining sectors in Romania is Romanian Federation of Energy Mines. This Federation sent an open letter to Romanian Government asking to stop the import of electricity from non-EU countries. The letter states that the Federation, which represents the employees’ interests in Energy Complex (EC) Oltenia, Energy Complex (EC) Hunedoara, Nuclearroserv, Nuclearelectrica, National Uranium Company and others, considering the establishment of the state of emergency under the provisions of the Romanian Constitution, asks the Government to take all necessary measures to stop the import of electricity from non-EU countries, countries that do not have the obligation to pay CO2 certificates, so that the energy required for domestic consumption is produced by the Romanian production capacities, in order to protect the jobs of the employees on whom it represents.
