Hungary: Paks2 environmental impact study deficient
, NGOsAn environmental impact study prepared by the MVM Paks 2 nuclear power station development company fails to sufficiently address the issue of waste management and the heat burden on the River Danube, the Energiaklub climate policy institute said. Several key issues have not been clarified in the impact study and numerous observations are based on unfounded, outdated or incorrect views, Energiaklub said in a statement. The environmental licencing procedure of the new nuclear power station in Paks started in December 2014, and Energiaklub has joined the process so, according to the law, its assessments must be taken into account, the statement added.
