Privileged producer status for SHPP Slap Zete in Montenegro
, NewsThe small hydro power plant Slap Zete was built in 1952 with an installed capacity of 1.2 MW, and three years later Glava Zete, with a capacity of 4.5 MW, was put into operation. Both facilities have been operating since 2010 as part of the company Zeta Energy, which is a joint venture between Elektroprivreda and Norwegian NTE.
The Danilovgrad-based company Zeta Energy has received the status of a privileged producer of electricity for the reconstructed small hydro power plant Slap Zete, the board of the Energy Regulatory Agency (RAE) has decided. It was announced that the status of a privileged producer is valid for 12 years.
EPCG previously announced that the reconstruction projects of the two small HPPs Slap Zete and Glava Zete represent the investment plan of the electricity company, with the aim of preserving and increasing the capacities of the already existing small hydropower plants through the reconstruction projects.
Over eight million euros were invested in the reconstruction project, and it was announced that in the technical sense, the result of this investment will be a 30% increase in production compared to the previous one.
The reconstruction project included the replacement of complete electromechanical equipment, as well as the rehabilitation and adaptation of the complete construction infrastructure. The average realized production in the period before the reconstruction was 14.6 GWh, while now the annual production will be 20.5 GWh.
