Romania: Vast Resources sells ore to Swiss trader
, InvestorsUK-based Vast Resources, which manages the mine in Manaila, Suceava county, will sell the ore concentrates obtained in Romania to Transamine Trading Switzerland, one of the largest non-ferrous metals trading companies in the world.
Earlier this month, the two companies signed a long-time agreement for the period September 2016 – December 2017, to sell the concentrates produced in the Manaila mine.
“This is a confirmation of higher quality of the ore extracted in the Suceava mine, which in August reached the percentage purity of 20% for copper concentrate,” said Vast Resources representatives.
The South-African company is currently developing the Manaila mine. It is implementing the second phase of the optimization process. This involves commissioning a new flotation line dedicated to zinc separation. The new station will allow it to produce two salable types of concentrate, and thus maximize its revenues.
Vast Resources was set up at the end of 2005. In 2013, the company became active in Romania. The company owns 50.1% of the Manila mine operation, and 80% of the Baita Plai mine in Bihor county.
