According to the parent company “Rio Tinto”, the company “Rio Sava Exploration” has organized 19 “Open Days” since 2019 on the topic of environment, water quality, air, noise impact, biodiversity, spatial plan, cultural heritage and legal-property relations, in which 450 citizens participated.

President of the Association “Let’s Protect Jadar and Radjevina”, Marija Alimpić, said that the Association expects the Government of Serbia to terminate cooperation with the company “Rio Tinto” due to a possible environmental catastrophe, which would exploit lithium near Loznica and annul the “illegal” spatial plan for construction. mine. Since December 2020, that ecological society has not been in contact with the representatives of the company “Rio Tinto”, said Alimpić and stated that the cooperation of that company with the local population is bad, that they have never been invited to discuss problems due to possible environmental pollution. Alimpić said that the company has two offices – one in Loznica, and the other in the nearby village of Brezjak, on the site of the announced mine, where there is usually no one in charge, and “no information can be obtained about the company’s plans to protect the environment during lithium exploitation. ”
