The obvious devastation of the Tara riverbed in Montenegro
, NewsThe Civic Movement URA announced that they went out at the location and took pictures of the riverbed. The movement says that it can be clearly seen from the recordings that the devastation of the riverbed and ecocide undoubtedly occurred on the construction of the priority section of the highway (Smokovac – Mateševo).
They say that the assessment was made by UNESCO, under whose protection the Tara River is, and that so far none of the authorities has been responsible for that or offered a valid explanation.
“The recordings we made available to the public clearly show, even in layman’s terms, that the Tara riverbed was devastated by narrowing the riverbed due to the creation of artificial embankments, mostly made of rubble and construction materials on both sides of the bank. the flow of the river so that it completely changes its flow in one part and continues to flow at a right angle of 90 degrees. We recently informed the delegation of the Greens of Europe, which was in Montenegro, about such a situation, and they pointed out that they would closely monitor the events and the situation around the devastation of Tara in the European Parliament, “the Civic Movement URA reports.
They add that in the coming period, they will continue to monitor the situation with friends from the NGO sector and environmental activists and do everything to stop any further devastation of Tara, which, as they say, is already irreversibly devastated in many parts.
“It’s all done by people who don’t like their country. People for whom the preservation of the natural environment, our most valuable resource, is not on the list of priority actions. These are the ones who are most responsible for the devastation of natural resources throughout Montenegro and make up the current ruling majority “, explain the ERO.
They conclude that they will defend every piece of nature in Montenegro because they will not allow something that is the property of all citizens to be given to the management of a group of insatiable profiteers, corrupt officials and criminals.
