European Coal and Liyit Union spokesman Bostan, coal, electricity production is the most reasonably priced resource, he said.

The Brussels-based European Coal and Liyit Association spokesman, Mike Bostan, said most reasonably priced resource in electricity production in countries with a crowded population and large distribution system is coal.

In assessments on status of Coal in Europe’s electricity generation, Bostan said that 25 percent of electricity production in European Union was met from coal.

Bostan stated that re is a abundant energy source in coal throughout world, reminding that countries such as Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Poland and Germany have important coal reserves.

Noting that re are still coal plants in Poland, Greece and Germany in Europe, Bostan pointed out that electricity consumption is expected to increase in many countries and that production must also be upgraded to meet this demand.

Coal, which is a very advantageous source in production of electricity, Bostan, said:

“Some countries can produce electricity with more affordable costs than renewable sources due to ir natural and geographical conditions, but in most countries, this is not case. Coal is most reasonable-priced way to provide electricity in countries with high population and large distribution systems. It also gives flexibility to coal power generation. Coal plants are able to adapt rapidly according to load in electricity production and balance production according to change in demand. Increased use of renewable resources in electricity production also increases importance of coal plants. It avoids imbalances in production of sources that vary from production such as coal, wind and sun. ”
