Bosnia: Construction of hydroelectric Bočac 2 in Mrkonjić grad
, NewsOn the river Vrbas today began setting up the first concrete for a new hydroelectric power plant Bočac the second. The project which dates back to 80’s of the last century, these days gets its first form. The investment value is around 40 million KM, and it is planned that the construction be completed during 2017.
As reported by RTRS, construction of HPP Bočac 2 will have multiple significance for the economy of Mrkonjic Grad, but also for the overall system of the Electric Power Industry of the Republic of Serbian. In the western part of Serbian consumes about 50%, and produces only 5% of electricity in the system of Elektroprivreda RS. The construction of HPP Bočac 2 will create conditions for a stable power supply to the western part of Serbian.
Hydro power plant Bočac in whose complex will be built power plant Bočac 2 has installed capacity of 110 MW and projected annual production of 307.5 GWh. Hydro power plant Bočac was put into operation on 5 December 1981.
