, NewsUK based metal miner Mineco said it will soon launch construction of a 10 million euro ($10.8 million) small hydropower plant (SHHP) on the river Drinjaca in Bosnia’s Serb Republic.
The entire project for the construction of the small hydropower plant has been completed and the construction works will start when climate conditions become more favorable, Mineco said in a statement e-mailed to SeeNews on Tuesday.
The SHPP Medos One will have an installed capacity of 4.71 MW and an annual production of 18 million kWh, the company noted.
In parallel, Mineco has initiated geological-exploration works near Foca, also in the Serb Republic, for the certification of lead and zinc ore reserves.
The UK-based company already runs the Gross Mine near Bosnia’s Srebrenica, and is due to shortly open a lead mine in the municipality of Olovo.
Elsewhere in Southeastern Europe (SEE), Mineco is also active in Serbia, where it is due to soon open a Bosil-Metal lead and zinc mine.
