Bulgaria will build two waste treatment plants worth EUR 4.75 million
, NewsBulgaria’s environment ministry announced his plan to build two waste treatment plants worth a total of EUR 4.75 million in the Sandanski municipality, situated in a valley at the foot of Pirin Mountains, along the banks of Sandanska Bistritsa River.
The project involves the construction of a composting plant with a capacity of 2,623 tonnes per year and an installation for preliminary treatment of waste with an annual capacity of 10,430 tonnes, the ministry said in a statement.
The EU operational program will help financing this project with a grant of EUR 3,5 million.
“By the end of 2020, the share of recycled waste from households should increase to at least 50%,” Neno Dimov, Bulgaria’s environment minister said in the statement, SeeNews reported.
The construction works is expected to be completed in 27 months.
