Draft Air Quality Plan for Belgrade re-presented – without significant changes
, NewsOn the occasion of the repeated public insight into the Draft Air Quality Plan for Belgrade, the Regulatory Institute for Renewable Energy and Environment (RERI) and the Belgrade Open School (BOS) organized the third round of public consultations. During the public discussion, the keynote speakers agreed that no significant changes had been made within the document itself and that the shortcomings pointed out by the participants in the public consultation had not been remedied, and that many of the comments sent to the Secretariat for Environmental Protection from the objections lightly rejected, without detailed consideration of the suggestions, it is stated on the BOS site.
As it is pointed out, the Draft Plan still lacks:
– air quality pollution reduction goals;
– analysis of measures in terms of profit and costs, analysis of the impact of air pollution on the health of citizens;
– precise indicators and deadlines for implementation of measures;
– assessment of the planned improvement of air quality and the time period required to achieve these objectives;
– precise inventory of pollution emissions.
– Accordingly, the participants still agree that the proposed Draft Plan should be withdrawn from the procedure, as it does not meet the basic legal criteria and standards that the Air Quality Plan should meet, and that the adoption of this document and the implementation of these measures will not respond. the urgent need to solve the problem of air pollution in Belgrade – it is stated.
