EU invests EUR 222 mln in the Danube area

The European Union has adopted a program worth EUR 222 million, which will support transnational cooperation projects for conserving the natural and cultural patrimony in the Danube region.

It will invest over EUR 202 million from the European Regional Development and EUR 19.8 million from the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance. The program includes EU member states such as Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia and three non-EU countries: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro.

The project aims to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the Danube area and to support the transition to a low carbon economy.
