Four candidates seek permits to build small HPPs in Albania
, NewsAlbania’s energy ministry said it has received four applications for building permits for small hydro power plants in the last two days of October.
The applications have been submitted by the following companies and consortiums: Marjakaj (3 power plants), Gjoni Kalivac, Ervin Kita & Taverna Agolli and Anesti Jaupllari & Eralda Intimo (1 power plant each), according to a list of applications posted on the website of the energy ministry on Tuesday.
The capacity of each planned HPP shall not exceed 2 MW.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity from HPPs, most of it from three power plants along the Drin River, in the northern part of the country.
