Green hydrogen plant in Albania to be build by Saipem and Alboran
, NewsIn order to jointly build a green hydrogen production plant in Albania, Italian oil and gas industry contractor Saipem and Alboran Hydrogen, a portfolio company of Italian investment firm Alboran Invest, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Saipem said.
Saipem will do the engineering, procurement and construction of the plant, whereas Alboran Hydrogen will coordinate the technological aspects and authorisation activities, Saipem said in a statement.
Under the MoU, the companies will jointly develop and build three other plants for the production of green hydrogen in Italy and one in Morocco. The plants will produce hydrogen through a process called electrolysis.
Saipem is present in over 60 countries and provides solutions and services related to the engineering, drilling and construction of projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
