In Serbia, the permitted sulfur content in heating oils will be reduced
, NewsThe ministry estimates that the reduction of sulfur content will contribute to lower emissions of sulfur dioxide from combustion plants that use this type of fuel, such as electricity, heating plants and industry, which is especially important during the heating season when the use of fuel oil increases.
“By adopting this rulebook, which was the obligation to be adopted two years ago, Serbia has fully complied with the international commitments to implement Directive 2016/802 / EC on the sulfur content of certain liquid fuels,” the statement added.
The new Ordinance also reduced the sulfur content in the fuel for working machines and tractors, thus fully complying with the Directive 98/70 / EC on the quality of diesel and motor gasoline.
“These harmonizations, as well as the introduced monitoring of the quality of oil derivatives on the Serbian market, enabled the use of fuels of petroleum origin of the highest quality, which contributes to reducing air pollution not only from the transport sector, but also from industry, construction and agriculture.”
