KOSID and Sierra Club react to developments in the energy sector in Kosovo
, NewsKOSID and Sierra Club have started a campaign calling out the support of activists to tell ContourGlobal to support clean energy development in Kosovo instead of building a new coal plant.
Studies have shown that there is significant potential for energy efficiency improvements and cost-competitive clean energy development in Kosovo. In spite of this, the New York-based company ContourGlobal is on the brink of signing a contract with the Government of Kosovo to build a new coal-fired power plant.
ContourGlobal needs to know there is strong opposition to building new coal plants around the world, especially when cost-competitive clean energy options exist.
Take action now: tell ContourGlobal to support clean energy development in Kosovo instead of building a new coal plant!
