Largest solar power plant in Croatia put into operation on the island of Vis
, NewsThe Croatian Electric Power Company (HEP) put into operation the Solar Power Plant on the island of Vis, the largest solar power plant in the country, worth 31m kunas (4.1m euros). Solar power plant Vis (SE Vis) is the first of seven HEP solar power plants whose commissioning is scheduled for the period 2019-2023. year, within the construction cycle worth 750 million kuna (99.4 million euros).
With the construction of the solar power plant, the island of Vis got its own source of renewable energy and greater security of electricity supply, especially in periods of increased consumption during the tourist season, Seebiz reports.
SE Vis is the first large solar power plant built on the Croatian islands. The 3.5 MW power plant will annually produce, without incentives and on a completely market basis, about 5 million KWh of electricity, which corresponds to the consumption of about 1,600 households.
It was built on a plot of 5.5 hectares, on the hill Griževa glavica, 3.6 kilometers southwest of the town of Vis and 4.8 kilometers east of Komiža.
