Monsson Group to shut down 27 MW wind park in Romania – report
, InvestorsBucharest (Romania)- Wind power project developer Monsson Group has decided to take down a 27 MW park in Romania as legal changes have made the project financially unfeasible, local media reported on Tuesday.
Monsson Group, controlled by businessman Emanuel Muntmark, is the first investor in Romania to decide to dismantle wind turbines, financial daily Ziarul Financiar said.
“Following the regulations adopted by the government over the last two years and due to the uncertainty on the renewable energy market, Monsson Group has decided together with its project partners to dismantle the turbines from the 27 MW CEE Targusor power plant,” the daily quoted Monsson Group business development manager Sebastian Enache as saying.
The changes in the legislation have make the project unfeasible from a financial point of view, he added.
Targusor wind park, located in the southeastern county of Constanta, was installed in 2012 but has never been put into operation due to the unfavourable regulatory environment, Enache also said.
