Oil and gas exploration off the Montenegrin coast risk or great benefit?

, News

On the Adriatic Sea between Bar and Ulcinj, 28 kilometers from the Montenegrin coast, there is a plant of the Italian-Russian consortium Eni-Novatek, which will start searching for oil at that location on March 25.

After the DPS government concluded an agreement on oil and gas exploration and production with the Italian-Russian consortium Eni-Novatek five years ago, the new executive power will start implementing it at the end of next week. In addition to the great economic benefits, the Ministry of Capital Investments claims that the possibility of damage to the environment in the case of this project has been reduced to a minimum, but that, if that happens, they have a plan to react quickly.

On the other hand, the non-governmental organization Green Home believes that this is a very risky project, which is being implemented by a company with a controversial profile.
