Dutch wind turbine maker EWT said today it has signed a contract to supply 22 turbines for projects of PPC Renewables on 10 Greek islands.

The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of 22 pieces of DW 52-900kW wind turbines to repower existing wind farms. Installation is planned to take place next year. EWT will be servicing the machines after commissioning.

In August, PPC Renewables, a subsidiary of Greek utility PPC SA, launched a tender for 18 projects. Ten of these were won by EWT in November.

Also today, the European Investment Bank signed a loan of EUR 85 million (USD 100.5m) to support the wind and small hydro projects, both repowering and new installations, of PPC Renewables.
