According to Romanian media, Romania will be the third-largest recipient of European funds under the EU program aimed at facilitating the transition to green industrial systems.
The European Commission has allocated 7.5 billion euros to the Just Transition Fund (JTF), which is intended to provide assistance to communities with coal-based industries to move to other energy sources. Poland will receive 2 billion euros through this fund, Germany – 877 million and Romania should get 757 million euros.
The Fund for Just Transition is part of a 100 billion euros financial mechanism that facilitates the transition of the industrial system to eco-friendly energy sources. The funds will be allocated after each state submits detailed regional plans for the transition to green energy.
