Romania: Siemens Gamesa and Vestas want to come to Romania with turbines for the 1GW project prepared by a Dutch company

Six companies have expressed their intention to supply turbines for the three wind farms with a total capacity of 1 GW that the NERO Renewables are planning to build in Romania, a project estimated at 1.4 billion euros, profit.ro reports.

Siemes Gamesa and Vestas, the largest producers of wind turbines in the world, with companies Enercom and Senvion (Germany), Nordex (Denmark) and Lagerwey Wind (Netherlands) participates in the tender organized by NERO Renewables, the result will be announced in the first quarter of 2018.

NERO seeks an equal cost of energy producing, so the price of turbines is not the only factor taken into account in the choice of supplier or suppliers, but also the operational costs of the turbines.

The construction of three wind farms in southeast Romania is scheduled to begin in 2019, which will come into operation by 2021. Once operational, the parks will generate 3 TWh of energy annually, equivalent to 2.6% of the total electricity of the Netherlands.

The total cost of the project is estimated at 1.4 billion euros.
