Romania’s electricity production goes up by over 10%
, NewsRomania’s electricity production reached 64.8 TWh last year, up by 10.5% compared to 2013. The domestic consumption amounted to 57.7 TWh, up by 1.9% compared to 2013.
Romania was a net exporter, as the import-export balance reached -7 TWh, according to Romania’s Energy Authority ANRE.
The wind energy had a 9.56% share in the local energy mix last year, compared to 8.05% in 2013. The solar energy reached a 2.52% share, from 0.7% in 2013, whereas the share of energy produced in hydrocarbons power plants dropped from 15.5% in 2013 to 11.96% in 2014. The share of hydropower production was 29.22%, an increase of 3.47% compared to 2013.
