Several wind farms in Serbia might be constructed by Gazprom

In December 2019, Denis Fedorov general manager of Gazprom Energoholding said Gazprom is interested in investing in wind power projects in Serbia if they are economically efficient.

Gazprom Energoholding, a subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom, is in talks for construction of several wind farms in Serbia, Fedorov has recently said.

“We are currently negotiating the conditions for the implementation of several wind power projects in Serbia,” Fedorov said in an interview for the latest edition of Gazprom’s corporate magazine.

Gazprom has made no investment decision at the moment, Russian news agency ITAR-TASS quoted Fedorov as saying.

He also said that Gazprom plans to attract no partners for the construction of the wind farms.

“We do not need partners from the point of view of competencies. About 70% of all work is carried out by the manufacturer of wind energy equipment – either Siemens Gamesa, or Vestas, or someone else,” Fedorov said.

“After all, we are a company that is obliged to provide profit to its shareholders,” Fedorov said at the end of 2019.
