Turkey has found the largest natural gas reserves in history
, NewsThe President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stated that Turkey has found the largest reserves of natural gas in its history, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
“Turkey has found the largest reserves of natural gas in its history in the Black Sea,” Erdogan said.
He said that Turkey would start using gas from the Black Sea in 2023.
“Our drilling ship Fatih discovered reserves of 320 billion cubic meters of natural gas during drilling that began on July 20, 2020,” Erdogan added, noting that energy is a key segment of every country’s development.
He emphasized that the drilling and seismic surveys carried out by Turkey do not depend in the least on foreign elements.
“We are determined to fundamentally solve our country’s energy issue. We expect similar good news from the Mediterranean, “Erdogan said.
He said Turkey would continue research until it becomes an energy exporter.
